Gila Monster

-Largest lizard in the United States, growing up to 22 inches long and weighing over a pound
-Gila monsters have bead-like scales on their upper surface, a large head, and a short tail
-Easily recognizable by their spotted orange-and-black skin
-Not uncommon in southern Arizona
-If you see one, don't mess with it ... they don't just bite, they latch on for the long haul!
