Ironwood Forest National Monument



-A protected area in Arizona's Sonoran Desert
-Established in 2000
-Managed by the Bureau of Land Management. 
-Located in the mountainous section of the desert, 25 miles northwest of Tucson -Home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the desert ironwood tree, which has been protected in Arizona since the 1970s
-Ancient historic sites in the area
