-Large, black birds with long legs, tails, and bills
-They have glossy purple heads, bronzy bodies, and bright golden eyes
-Grackles are about 12 inches long, weigh about 3 to 5 ounces, and have a wingspan of about 14 to 18 inches
-Males are slightly larger than females
-Grackles are known to be noisy cacklers, and like to frequent parking lots ... so known locally as the "parking lot birds"!
