Crested Caracara

- The Crested Caracara looks like a hawk with its sharp beak and talons, behaves like a vulture, and is technically a large tropical black-and-white falcon
- Protected by the U.S. Migratory Bird Treaty Act ... also protected as a Threatened species by the Federal Endangered Species Act 
- Although not common, it can be seen in southern Arizona
